LSU Wins Seventh National Title in Game 3 of College World Series

Tigers Dominate Gators 18-4 for Championship Victory

Louisiana State University (LSU) made a remarkable comeback in Game 3 of the 2023 Mens College World Series finals, defeating the University of Florida 18-4 to secure their seventh national championship. After losing Game 2 by a score of 24-4, LSU bounced back in a dominant display of offense and pitching.

The Tigers' bats came alive in the third inning, scoring five runs to take an early lead. They continued to pour on the runs throughout the game, adding seven more in the fifth and six more in the seventh. LSU's offense was led by Dylan Crews, who went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, and Jack Mashburn, who hit a solo home run.

On the mound, LSU's Justin Lamkin was masterful. The right-hander allowed just one run on four hits over five innings, striking out seven batters. He was relieved by Nick Storz and Bryce Collins, who combined to shut out Florida over the final four innings.

Florida, who had forced a Game 3 with their historic 24-run outburst in Game 2, could not keep up with LSU's momentum. The Gators managed just four runs on eight hits, with Cade Kurland hitting a solo home run in the ninth inning.

This victory marks LSU's first national championship since 2009 and their seventh overall. It is also the third title for head coach Jay Johnson, who led the Tigers to victory in 2019 and 2022.

The 2023 Mens College World Series has been one of the most exciting in recent memory, with several thrilling games and dramatic moments. LSU's victory is a testament to their resilience and determination, and they will undoubtedly be celebrated as one of the greatest college baseball teams of all time.
