Oilers Advance After Game Seven Victory

Leon Draisaitl Shows Up When Needed Most

After a back-and-forth series, the Edmonton Oilers have punched their ticket to the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs after defeating the Los Angeles Kings 4-2 in Game Seven. The Oilers were led by Leon Draisaitl, who scored twice in the game, including the game-winning goal in the third period.

The Kings came out strong in the first period, taking an early 1-0 lead. However, the Oilers responded with a goal from Evan Bouchard late in the period to tie the game. The Oilers took the lead in the second period on a goal from Cody Ceci, but the Kings tied the game again with a goal from Viktor Arvidsson.

The Oilers took the lead for good in the third period on a goal from Connor McDavid. Draisaitl then added an empty-net goal to seal the victory.

Oilers to Face Canucks in Round 2

The Oilers will now face the Vancouver Canucks in the second round of the playoffs. The Canucks defeated the Nashville Predators 4-2 in their first-round series.

The Oilers and Canucks are familiar with each other, having played each other six times during the regular season. The Oilers won three of those meetings.

The Oilers will be looking to continue their success against the Canucks in the playoffs. They will be confident heading into the series after their strong performance in the first round.
